The Pope will be chanting and incantating his way across the country, at a rising cost.

Let the Catholics pay for it if they want him here so much.

It does seem like the ultimate insult to british finance though. Making things harder for poorer people, and yet they are subsidising a 4 day holiday for a ludicrously wealthy man (it is not as if they are lacking in resources now, although individual churches may be) who is not even from this country, and what is more someone who could, tentatively, be considered part of a conspiracy to evade the law in many countries.....

Why the hell am I paying to Police the visit of a delusional fool who won't condemn the child abuse that is performed within his organisation?

I hope there are protests galore.

jonbwfc I was behind her in a queue today - but I wouldn't describe it as 'bushy'.

Yeah..... the mass at Hyde park could be interesting to watch. For once, vuvezelas might actually be welcome ;)

You've no idea about the arguements this has caused between me and the god bothering mother-in-law.
She say the child abuse was evil, but won't hear a word said against the pope for his (or the churches) efforts to cover it up.
Talk about being brain washed from birth......

I can't believe they're using the "head of state" line to justify tax payers money being spent on this.
In my opinion, Vatican City is no more a real state than "Sealand".
