I'd be much happier to see a good sub-editor employed

NO!

Try these few things:

  1. Spell things correctly
  2. Slow down your reporting so you can...
  3. Get your facts right instead of fomenting speculation
  4. Improve your investigative journalism
  5. Put some important news exclusives on the website first before they hit the TV
  6. Sack however comes up with your colour schemes - they're p!ss-poor
  7. Make your low-bandwidth version work correctly

In short, get a fekking grip because at the moment you're crap.

Twitter and facebook are most likely going to turn out to be a fad.

I prefer the design of the BBC News website over that of Twitter/Facebook.

I understand that Neville Brody is involved in the BBC site redesign.

Lets just hope he makes it better than it is now.

Sadly I can't help but predict that we'll end up with a more expensive bad site.

Given they've just had their budget cut by 25%, the one thing its not likely to be is more expensive.

I don't feel the need for any "improvements".

Sometimes I get the impression that the BBC have money to burn. :?

If they don't spend everything they can't ask for licence fee increases. And they've just spent the best part of a billion doing up Broadcasting House.

How about they spend money on making TV programmes rather than redesigning stuff that already works and doesn't need changing?

I agree. Then maybe they could do something innovative way.
