Well that is probably down to the fact that the shops near schools know that they will sell bigger packets. Duh! |

What's stopping people from buying two or three packets of crisps where previously one packet was enough to satisfy one's appetite? |

Or what about the multi packs? People will buy junk because it is tasty cheap and available. Luckily I never go the taste for crisps. I can eat them but never more than a few at a time. A packet can take me all night to finish. |

What about people just not stuffing their fat faces and stop eating rather than trying to make anyone else responsible? |

Here, we've only ever had "family" sized packs of crips. Walkers, sold exclusively through Subway, are the only crisps I've seen in "small" packets. |

I think it's the same in many countries isn't it Dave? I'm sure I've only ever seen the big bags in Austria and Finland as well. In Finland, as far as I've exeperienced, they only come in one size: Megapussi. Yep, megapussi. |

I thought they went by the name Lays on the continent, or are you doing a translation for us? |

No, Lays are available in supermarkets, in large sizes and normal "German" flavours. Subway actually sells "portion" sized packets with Walkers branding... Edit: Adidan, I think Italy also only has large sizes. I think portion sized packets is a very English thing, at least from the travelling I've done. |

TBH, in a weird way, I think only having large packets makes me actually eat less of them. Sometimes I'd just have a couple rather than a whole small bag. |

Cheaper and less packaging as well. I don't recall seeing small bags when I've been in Denmark recently, but In Oz they are more like the UK. |

Actually, thinking about it, larger bags wouldn't be so quick and easy to throw into lunch boxes for school or work. It probably would help reduce consumption in the long run, as well as packaging, if no small bags were allowed. |
