"Getting a letter like this is extremely worrying," Bellamy said. "I have never downloaded anything from this website and yet I am being chased for this money. My parents have been worried by this, and frankly I've got better things to do with my time than deal with this."

Michael Coyle, solicitor advocate and MD of Southampton-based law Lawdit is going so far as to offer to defend anyone that receives such letters from IP lawyers in court for free. Providing they genuinely didn't download and share the copyrighted material in question, that is!

I think that the record on identifying the downloaders is patchy. It was the legal actions that put me off downloading music, but then since I am a avid CD buyer it really was never going to affect me. Though actions like this can damage the brand that is Ministry of Sound. All it needs is a boycott and the label will lose much more than they could possibly gain from such action.

Ministry of Sound.
Who've piloted a genre of music infamous for a somewhat cavalier approach to certain laws concerning 'recreational chemistry' are now getting their knickers in a knot about file sharing?
I got my knickers in a knot when one of my cars came equipped with a MoS head unit.
Honestly, it's the worst PoS I've ever had the misfortune to have in a car. It lulls you into a sense of security, that it can play CDs, when it patently can't.
I'm thinking about tracking down the original tape deck for the motor. It'd be more use.

Pretty much everything with an MoS logo on it that isn't actually music is dross. They hawked the name around like your proverbial cheap tart a few years ago and didn't really seem to give much of a damn about what got used with it. The very definition of 'sold out'.

Why didn't they just stick to the club and leave it at that?

A great example of brand mismanagement.
