Channel Five was first launched in 1997

I remember it well. The Spice Girls were still enormous then, and Geri looked filthy

Oh, and Five gave you billboards and trailers for all these films that they didn't show for months and years later

*Tangent*

I've got fond memories of 1997, though they may be incorrect

Total Film launched and was looked forward to then.

Seen Con Air for a quid on national cinema day - the one and only time an entire cinema crowd loved the film and you could feel it, IME.

A local McD's opened. That was quite important at the age of 15

*Tangent*

Channel5 cannot be used as a promotion front for the magazines/newspapers that the guy owns, but the newspapers/magazines can be used to promote Channel5.
That amused me.

I don't give a [LIFTED] about that dead media whore so I couldn't care one way or the other.
