Scientists at the University of Sheffield asked two groups of patients with and without the disease to provide details of their drinking habits.

They found that patients who had drunk alcohol most frequently experienced less joint pain and swelling.

Experts say this should not be taken as a green light for drinking more.

My Grampy had a bottle of Guinness a day when he was in hospital, although it was supplied by my Nan, it was written on the same sheet as all his medication!

Possibly not but if anyone gives you a funny look when you are buying it you could say you are collecting your prescription. :P

Depends, Captain's Organ (Captain Morgan's to the uninitiated) or Sailor Jerry*?

*The original. The "new" Sailor Jerry is widely reported to be awful.

I prefer Woods navy rum but spiced rum is a wonderful alternative. 8-)
