British men fear going grey more than going bald, research claims

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... laims.html

Quote:
One in two British men questioned for the poll said they were unhappy about going grey. From the age of 45 their preoccupation with getting grey hairs increases rapidly.
Forty per cent of men worry about hair loss or thinning hair.

If you go bald you do not have any hair to go grey!

I'm going bald on top (my girlfriend calls it my helicopter landing pad!) and the sides are going grey.

Doesn't bother me, to be honest. The sideburns are starting to look like J.J. Jamesson!

I was going bald, starting to look like a monk so shaved it all off. So there is nothing to go grey. :P

Have you noticed how the Just for Men adverts have subtly shifted their adverts. They feature middle aged man with greying hair and daughter.

A year or so ago, the daughters were harassing this man to get another woman in his life (clearly, he’s either divorced or a widower - I suspect the former, but we never see his patio so we can never be sure).

In the latest advert, his daughter (there is now just the one) is clearly badgering him to get another job. I guess the next advert will have him on his own. He may be grey, but he’ll probably be a lot happier now those bloody women have stopped trying to organise his life.

By the sound of it, the women are the reason he went grey in the first place

I'll happily go grey rather than bald! I like having long(ish) hair and many have exclaimed that I'd look eccentric if I when grey (though white would be better)...

I'd rather go grey than bald, if only so I don't get my head sunburnt.

Bald has its benefits. No spending on hair cuts. No need for combs or brushes. No bed hair either.

Downsides if you have a stray long hair anywhere you have no excuse. Sun burn in summer, and no insulation in winter.

Yes but have you seen hair transplants close up? It looks like a brush, with little clumps of hair. Not a pretty sight. Hence my acceptance of going bald, it runs in the family like noses.

Yes I have, which is why I'd rather be bald than have implants. But I'd still rather be grey than blad. You can just dye grey hair if you're that bothered by it.

Agreed. Grey > Bald > Being Shane Warne and having to do those crappy adverts.
