I really need to complete the first game.

I got the Enhanced Edition when it was on sale and i do admit that it was very good. However i think i got tied up by new game releases and grinding it for about a week solid took its toll. The combat combo system i thought was very innovative and the potion system was very deep and interesting.

As Ctrl+Alt+Del nicely put:
