Infinity Ward's next entry in the Call of Duty series will reportedly be a prequel to 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, according to a new online rumour.
That's according to an 'unnamed source' speaking to fan site thisisxbox.com.
Not the most established of sources, granted - and you should still take this info with a large pinch of salt - but it's claimed the site's Deep Throat is the same that previously revealed the name and early details of Call CoD: Black Ops to Xboxic last year ahead of its official reveal - and that info was spot on.
According to the source, the plot of Infinity Ward's next CoD will focus on Modern Warfare 2 fan favourite Ghost, revealing how he became a masked member of Task Force 141 - a similar story to that of the MW comic book written by David Lapham.
It goes on to claim that the title will see players revisit locations from Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2 from a different viewpoint, that it may not arrive this year - and that it will not be created on a new game engine.
Infinity Ward employees alleged last year that Activision was demanding delivery of Modern Warfare 3 for November 2011, but massive unrest at the developer and an ongoing legal battle over the franchise may have resulted in a change of strategy.
Anyone fancy a prequel, then?
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=282174I wonder how little/much it'll be affected by the BLOPS [LIFTED], in every sense...
