No, even the demo was just a grind, and the main character and plot seemed to be some sort of mash-up
To each their own then, i guess the genre (or the humour) just isn't to your liking/taste/preference.
It's easily one of the best games (Top 5) i've played IMO just because of the tight control system, replayability and sheer amount of content included.
Also i do find the humour rather funny (i guess it's all the japanese anime i watch) and the style of game just clicks with me.
