Fcuk, how about updating the browser to improve stability? Websites assume it's IE6

And unless I'm missing something, surely it's been a while since a JS error actually fully froze anyone's system?

+1

I've not noticed any stability errors. You're right though, the browser is shocking.

I get constant [LIFTED] ups with the TV on demand services. I don't use the browser at all.

I often wonder what “stability improvements” means. The PS3 seems pretty stable to me anyway. Methinks this is the cat-and-mouse game with the home brewers. Why not just release a free (or game priced) SDK with limited features instead? That would legitimise the honest home coders.

Generally, with Sony kit, it means 'fixed a bug that allowed people to jailbreak the thing to do things we don't want them to'. I suppose there could also be some bug fixes that developers have asked for rolled in, which would mean the statement is accurate.

+1 to the TVOD. It's great that they exist, but my God it's 2011... I use the browser nearly every day, but only because it just about lets me view things I wanna look at quickly (X404, CVG etc). It is guaranteed to crash every other session just even doing that

What do you have problems with? I only use the iplayer alot really and there's very rarely an issue with that for me. :?

ITV player has a knack of freezing the image but continuing the audio when switching from ad breaks back to the show.

Ah right, not used ITV as of yet. They repeat everything so often on ITV2 ITV3 ITV58 and so on I've not found the need. :D

iPlayer sits there buffering far too often, my favourites get deleted for absolutely no reason, and programmes are updated either really quickly or pathetically slowly, with no rhyme or reason or compared to the actual iPlayer site :?

UTV (as it is here) has a good comprehensive list of progs, but more often than not the streaming is awful as Veato mentioned.

4oD is just a waste of electricity - it continually stops and starts, if you're lucky! And watching the same ad 3 or 4 times in one prog is just tragic.

All of them have a tragic search function in common n'all... As I said, it's better to have than not, but they're clearly an afterthought at this stage.

And why did the Beeb change iPlayer? It wasn't perfect before, but at least you had more control in a simple fashion :(
