My most memorable moment is one in the original F.E.A.R near the start (and in the demo) where you're climbing a ladder and as you hit the lip, you suddenly see the feet of Alma (the little girl) just waiting right at the very top.
You can then move back down or up and she'll disappear before you get to the top and "off" the ladder.
So you've just come down and gotten over that little jump, and take about 1-2 metres forward from the ladder and an image of Paxton Fettel jumps straight out at you.
Scared the life out of me.
I don't like F.E.A.R. any more.
I didn't play the original, but i played a cut down version of Descent 2 that came with the Graphics Card.
They added a Guide bot which will guide you around the objectives, including how to get out of the complex after destroying the reactor.
Easy right?
But the panic you get when you're following the Guide bot around and then suddenly realise you've lost it in the maze of turns... do you carry on and he's just ahead? Do you wait for him to come back to you? Do you turn around and go back the way you came in the hopes of finding him?
Fun times
