I'm just curious, I read it's pretty uninspired :? :|

Quite a lot of the reviews are saying that aren't they.

I've yet to play it since i'm getting it shipped home as opposed to out here.

Not to mention i'm not even sure if my laptop could run it... maybe. Although i don't really feel like playing FPSs out here since setting up the mouse takes effort.

My friend seems to be enjoying it though, although the one thing he says is that it's Hard... like very Hard (on Hard difficulty) so i'm looking forward to that challenge.

It sounds like it's almost on the rails but then BF for me is all about the MP anyway.

Playing through it now - pretty good, especially the way things are pretty obscured by lighting / dust even with high detail in firefights. Good for winding down but not desperately demanding. On the whole it's light entertainment which is what I generally like from my FPS

Relies a bit too much on cutscenes and hand-to-hand combat bits which are basically mash e or space or left mouse button
Usually you get the timing wrong and die and then have to wait through a couple of cutscenes to get to the button-mash bit again - very annoying and adds nothing to the experience. At one point I was playing Angry Birds whilst waiting for the NPC to climb up a ladder and let me into the bank, whereupon you get jumped by a guy with a knife and only a well-timed e-key can save you...

If the console version's like that, you've told me everything I need to know

Mine's the PC version in all its spyware-ridden high-def glory ;)

I've never enjoyed using a console controller in my life. Mouse and keyboard all the way for me!

EDIT: I was playing whilst waiting because it took 9 attempts to crack the timing. First time around it was not dull.

single player is terrible, run here > shoot these guys > press "e" to not die > mission complete.

would have rathered they didnt bother and just put a bot mode like they did with BF2. atleast then you could get some practice actually flying the air vehicles instead of "push x to not die now left click to make baddy die"

Sounds like COD - run here, shoot these guys, throw this grenade back to not die... :?

I've never played any BF before, only CoD, the major difference is in multiplayer. It's fantastic. Unlike CoD where you run around and try and shoot players jumping like kangaroos in order to survive in BF you need teamwork and to use your head.

It's glorious to look at too, some of the maps are huge, I'm pretty hooked. I can't see me buying another CoD TBH.
