Can any of the more seasoned gamers explain something to me, because I for the life of me can't make sense of the "help" sections on the MS website (no surprise there)
I have a gamertag. Many in fact. But one I predominantly use. It's not my original one, that one I appeared to "lose" when my first 360 died - but I didn't mind losing that since I don't care to maintain any kind of points/trophy history. That said, the fact that my (favoured) gamertag is "snowyweston", I would really like to use that - but one of my other gamertags appears to be the one associated with my primary "Microsoft account" (that I've had for years) most likely because I used to guard said hotmail account carefully, and only recently open it up for all uses, and retire all my other "clone" personas...
So, after all that confusion, more confusion. I've just got myself a Lumia phone, lovely little thing that it is. And being a windows phone, it's all setup to work with a "microsoft account". Clearly, I used my primary account to do this - and within seconds I had my 15+ years of hotmail identity and contacts on my phone. And sadly, that pesky gamertag I don't really use.
Now it's not the end of the world if I can't switch things around, obviously if I do decide to get a Gold account it make sense to do it with the gamertag associated with the primary "microsoft account" (I care not for Zune BTW) but if there's a way to save me from starting my (Halo 3, Halo Reach, Borderlands, Forza, MW2 & MW3) achievements from scratch, then I'd like to know.....
So, can anyone make sense of this pickle and come up with a solution?

My only knowledge is that MS used to charge for changing your tag, I've no idea if that's still the case. That probably wasn't helpful
