http://www.computerandvideogames.com/41 ... -suggests/I pretty much only buy games because of demos. If they're putting people off, it's because the game/demo is [LIFTED] to start with. This is basically 'people are finding out how [LIFTED] the games are without handing over £40!'. Yeah, you can fcuk off and die...

I have bought games based on demos, though not console games, but then I do not load console demos at all so they are not the reason for my not buying. I think that you are right if the game demo is rubbish then why buy. It would be interesting to see if this is replicated on iOS and android games. PC and Mac games might be a better comparison.
Interestingly if the games were to sell slower once the demo was out or had the sales lost steam by the time the demo was released?

Game demos halve sales of poorly coded, bug-ridden crap being passed off as complete games.

This. A buggy crap demo has put me off buying more than few games, but an interesting polished demo has convinced me to buy probably just as many.

+1 Game demos show how [LIFTED] a game really is. I've downloaded a few demos and it has stopped me wasting money on buying a game that I'd play for a few mins or maybe hours and then leave alone, untouched. Forever.

This, completely and utterly. If they cannot see that, they really are too retarded for words.

Yes demo's can avoid wasted money on crap games. Most people will see if the game is worth forking money on. The alternative is a lot of games ending up on the pre owned market. Or don't they count that?
