I've noticed there's been a fair few popular titles released recently but no comments/reviews/recommendations on here. I myself havent bought much recently as a) I'm waiting for Forza 3 and MW2 and b) this recession thing pinches a bit harder when there's a baby on the way!

So... anyone been buying or playing anything new?

NFS:Shift
Dirt 2
Guitar Hero 5
Wet
IL2 Sturmovik
Halo:ODST (for those of us who own a superior console ;) )

etc etc

Ok, in brief

NFS:Shift - this is GRID's stunt double and as I already have GRID...
Dirt 2 - Demo leads me to believe it is almost exactly the same as DIRT 1
Guitar Hero 5 - Will be getting the drum kit and GH Metallica, since I found out you can buy a 2nd bass pedal for the advanced mode... :D
Wet - This is Stranglehold with a girl - get Stranglehold, it is probably cheaper.
IL2 Sturmovik - Very pretty. I'm not usually into dogfighting flight games, but it is from a Russian developer so it could be quite refreshing.
Halo:ODST - Meh! Halo FPS without Master Chief is just an FPS with men in green suits. ;)

I'm looking forward to picking up Motorstorm Arctic Edge on the PSP and Uncharted 2 next month on PS3. The PC seems to be experiencing a bit of a drought besides Batman though.

No new games for me until January. :(

Well, trying desperately to scrounge £30 for Left 4 Dead 2. 8-)

I haven't even got playing the games my mate lent me for the PS3 - everytime I try to, I realise there's an eBay auction I wanna bid on (and wind up wasting hours on the PC afterwards), or my nephew turns up and demands attention, or... :(

I'm in the process of trying to complete some games before sticking them on eBay - Prince of Persia, Eternal Sonata, PGR4, GTAIV, probably some more - to have a clearout and I'm finding I havent got time for that. Probably explains why I havent bought some of the games I mentioned at the start of the thread.

So far, every game I've bought for the PS3, I've not completed:

Conan
Simpsons
Juiced 2
GTA4
NFS:UC
A few others I can't remember
Batman: Arkham Asylum - this is the only game that's interested me to the point where I want to complete it 100%. The last game that made me want to do that was SC:CT.

In fairness, the only ones of those I've bought are GTA4 and Batman, the rest I avoided. Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Infamous and IMHO the best game ever made - MGS4, would have been better options!

Oh if only it was an RTS ;)

ODST was meant to drop through my letterbox (see the pun) on Monday/Tuesday using GAME's First 2 Play scheme. It still hasn't arrived and I am VERY cheesed off.

I'll talk about it once it arrives.

NFS Shift - I only really get the NFS games when they come down in price... Carbon shall be my next buy, once i've completed Prostreet and Undercover! Though Forza 3 might eat my life up before that.

Dirt 2 - Want to get dirt 1 first.

Wet - played the demo, wasn't that impressed.

GH5 - Pretty awesome, especially how you can have all the GHWT tunes for free, but still the same old same old. Though I do believe they've improved the guitar slightly ^_^

Having enough problems learning chords on a real guitar to be arsed with GH5 ATM.

Has anyone else tried the X-Men Origins: Wolverine demo?

It's not supposed to be funny I don't think, but it made me laugh - graphic violence and super-silly cut scenes FTW!

Oh, and does anyone know why the Marvel vs Capcom demo downloads fine but won't install (corruption)? :?

Been meaning to for ages, but never got round to it. Tempted by the game as i'm an achievement-whore, and the game is meant to be really good for them!

A couple of friends are raving on about how amazing it is... So it might just be yours. Try redownloading? Either that or they're just talking out their arses! Its been know to happen >.<

Halo Wars was a pile of wank. RTS does NOT work on a console, no matter how much you say "oh but it was designed for xbox". NO! SHUT UP! It's absolutely awful bungie, stop trying to justify your lack of imagination and code for PC!

I thought Halo Wars was alright (emphasis on alright), but I agree 100% that RTS should be played on a PC, with a mouse and keyboard.
