funcom (sounds a little too much like contraception for me, but never mind...) have released the trial version of age of conan, which i believe allows you to progress up until you get online and only lasted a week, for free forever, for anyone who signs up between now and new years. i personally have taken advantage of this, as i enjoy the odd RPG, but hate MMO, and would never spend long enough on it to warrant paying i also hear its a bit of a showcase for DX10 graphics, but well see about that

anyone else signing up?

Its crap to be honest. I bought it when it first came out, subscribed, and after 2 months quit. Each area of the map is instanced so you dont feel like you are moving seemlessly around ( as you do in WOW ) and the grinding is boring. It is very pretty but you also need a good rig to play it if you want all the eye candy turned on.
