How do all.

Ok, so any pointers on the way to go for games on the PS3?

Late to the party and I'm just wondering the best route to go. What I mean is that are there any must play games that I should start with that I will be impressed with but which would look less impressive if I go straight in with later titles? If you know what I mean.

For example, is it worth starting off with Uncharted before tackling Uncharted 2 just so I'll be doubly impressed with the graphics?

I think I'll be keeping things like Mass Effect 2 (when it's out), Dragons Age Origins etc for the PC. Looking forward to next year for GT5, FFXIII and currently only have the Uncharted games, RE5 (just because I've done the rest) and possibly Assassins Creed 2 on my list (first one I did on the PC but may switch over just so as not to wait until March (?)).

Anyhoo, anyone wishing to humour my ramblings (and with any suggestions) will be kindly accommodated. :D

Yeah, in the instance of Uncharted, definitely play them in sequence - there's a far greater depth to the sequel from what I've seen :)

I recommend Batman: Arkham Asylum, it's about £25 now 8-)

Infamous is good and no more than £15 online as it's gone Platinum.

I'll post more as they come to me ;)

Cheers Ernie.

Aye, I'll get a hold of Uncharted as well. Infamous eh? I'll have a goosey, I guess that's the good thing about coming to the party late, some of the games are nice and cheaper now. :D

Ok, so I'm looking at Uncharted, Uncharted 2 (probably in a bundle with the console), Infamous, RE5, Silent Hill Homecoming and possibly Fallout 3(?) as possible starters. All seem to be between £14 and £19 aside from SH which I think is about £25 cheapest.
Oh, then Resistance 2, Metal Gear Solid: Rising?

Now I have quite a few on the forthcoming titles list and CoDWaW2 and Dragons Age are coming to me on the PC so any more "older" titles for the PS3 appreciated. :D

Cheers for the suggestions Gav. :D

Did you mention Resistance 1 but not 2 because you were going by my asking for earlier title suggestions or is it not so good, the sequel that is.

I could never be bothered to buy it. The first one was a great, but by the time 2 came out, Killzone 2 arrived...

I actually have a spare copy of Resistance I'll send your way for £5 delivered if you're interested :)

I've actually got a few games I'm selling, let me know if you want a list :D

Back to recommendations... The Darkness as a cool, cheap FPS (I have it on it's way alongside Rainbow 6 Vegas), and Stranglehold as a cheap, rather fun 3rd-person shooter starring Chow Yun-fat 8-)

Thanks for that, that's going to be handy to keep a track of new releases Ernie, i know of some future ones on my list (Heavy Rain, GT5, FFXIII) but I think they're not out until March time .

As for buying some of your games, possibly, afraid that's all I can say at the mo. I've not idea how many and which ones will be coming my way at Christmas time you see mate. If you still have some about after then, or you put your list up before then, give me a shout so I can take a goosey.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've trawled some PS3 websites and not seen some of the games mentioned so far so that's been useful.

No probs, I'll see what's left after Xmas and probably resurrect this thread ;)

Have you kept Alien Vs Predator in mind (Feburary)? Check out the Bring It On! thread in Gaming if you haven't, it looks fcuking lush 8-)

I second the "The Darkness" suggestion, as it is excellent if unsuitable for the squeamish. I was thinking of exclusives as the time of posting you see!

Before you buy anything we've recommended ;) , check out the PSN store for the demos - Killzone 2, Uncharted 1, The Darkness, Batman... Actually, most of the games we've talked about are on there in demo form for you to try out first 8-)

Surely just having Mike Patton from Faith No More as the voice of the Darkness is enough!? ;)

I've never really listened to them, which is surprising in itself with my tastes, but that's good to know :D
