I love the set up of the missions themselves (even if the story's rubbish), but it just doesn't feel right - I've messed around with the settings etc, but the controls don't seem very responsive and it never actually feels like you've shot someone with a heavy calibre weapon. It's hard to explain... I'll definitely finish the game though as I've also got a lend of the second And I'm doing alright considering tonight's my first proper go at it; finished the sniper level where you're playing as Capt. Price. Though I somewhat cheated by camping close to the troops spawning point and leaving Macmillan to fend for himself

Try doing that level (i assume you mean the Ferris Wheel one?) on Insane/Veteran/Hardest Difficulty... You'll soon see why it was criticised for its grenade spamming AI and make you want to rage stupidly hard. Other than that it's fine, i did really like that level.

Hard/Insane levels are a joke. It simply means the enemy AI have an unlimited supply of grenades to throw at you. This is also the case with World at War. I simply could not get past one level where you run in trenches due to a tidal wave of grenades.
That said I preferred the multiplayer WAW to COD4.

TBH I thought they would make them harder. Veteran on MW2 isn't that tricky really although I do remember CoD4 being a bit more of a challenge.

Its not that its hard for the most part. Its the tight levels in buildings and trenches when the AI just throw grenade after grenade and you cant move forwards.

Yip, that's the one. And I only realised after the fact that I hadn't even needed the C4 - I take it anyone who used it did a Punisher and planted it on the cars? ( ) Completed the game now, but I dunno how many times I've been killed by grenades even on regular Started MW2 yesterday. It's good, but I still wouldn't buy these games myself somehow... I found/find the plot almost impossible to follow - they'd be better telling you that you're an SF soldier, giving you mission parameters and leaving it at that IIRC, I'm at the second part of the favela bit where I've joined up with the rest of the team...

It makes more sense as the game gets on. To start with it is a bit confusing but it does make sense. Once I find all the laptops on this run through I'll give the multiplayer a go if you happen to head on to the servers ern. They tend to be the best part of CoD although I've not tried MW2 MP yet.

I'd love to mate but I have to give the games back to my mate ASAP - he's already getting MW2 multiplayer withdrawal Actually, you just know that's a 'recognised problem' for someone While I'm here, were trophies awarded in COD 4? My net connection was fcuked, didn't get any trophies, so I'm wondering was that the problem?

I don't think Infinity Ward actually supported trophies for CoD4. There were calls for a patch to do so but I'm not sure if they ever did it.

Just Googled it, they've no intention... Not that it makes any difference to me personally, I just thought it was odd

Finished MW2 last night, spoilers ahead for the few people that haven't played it I guess!Again, love the level set-ups, but that plot was just b0llocks Seriously, an American general who loses 30k of his men in a nuke explosion decides to start a war with Russia? Under the noses of the CIA and God knows who else? Even worse, what the fcuk was Makarov hoping to gain from that?! I laughed my balls off at Price launching a nuke at the States, only for it then to get even funnier when I realised that he's actually some sort of genius, who knows the exact coordinates that'll give him an EMP blast over the right section of America Look, there are few games that can hold your attention they way these do, but you really shouldn't be sitting there laughing your head off... Oh, I also spent half the game thinking Ghost was Gaz from the first game since I'm pretty sure it's the exact same voice actor. Christ, after the way Price was brought back, that's probably a plot point

Well, I don't know if you're at 'Need to watch Delta Force again' levels, but...
