I'm waiting for it to come down in price in the 360 as i) I havent finished Mass Effect 2 and Borderlands yet (and a whole boat load of other games but they're the main ones) ii) BF:Bad Company 2 is out any day (YAY!) which I shall be playing anytime I can get on the Xbox, which leads me to iii) having a new baby I barely get on the bloody Xbox.

Suppose if it is just me then I should retract what I said really; a long rant for a minor niggle I suppose. Not that their tech support is up to scratch; advised me to post it online on their forum, which I did so in a polite manner, and it has no answers. Compared to the buggers who go on, swear alot, give virtually no information and expect help (and then get it!), I feel hard done by.
I'm using Vista 64bit Home Premium, with no background programs running that should be causing any problems. All drivers are as up to date as they can be to my knowledge. Asus Xonar DX sound card, Radeon 4870 Graphics card. I will see how it runs tonight, continuing with my regular saving; hopefully I'll have a better time of it.

Well, the main difference between your system and mine is the GPU...Given ATI's reputation for drivers, I'd guess it was that at the root of your stability problems. Are you using the latest drivers?

Your graphics card could be getting too hot?
I have a 4870X2 and not had these problems. GFWL is a pain in the backside though.

Don't think so; I'm not doing any overclocking, have a large heatsink with reasonable clearance round the tower, haven't had any other heat related stability, and my machine can run Crysis at full pelt without breaking a sweat (well, the processor reaches its limits I suppose) so the rig is more than up to the job. My drivers are fully up to date, and the ATI drivers have never given me trouble with any other software, including Bioshock 1, so if it is down to that I'm still blaming shoddy programming on the game developer's part. The only rogue element is my sound card; Asus' drivers for the Xonar DX leave a lot to be desired in terms of installation ease, plus it was the most likely cause of my bioshock 1 problems. Tempted to switch to Creative, but I've heard they're not much better (and buying the soundcard in the first place was to appease Bioshock's non-sensical desire for a soundcard when most rigs have perfectly acceptable on board HD sound). However the error that brought down Bioshock 1 is not the same as the one bringing down the sequel, which appears randomly compared to the uniformity of the former.
