Rayman Origins (?) - You'd be better playing Aladdin on the MegaDrive.

I've played through it again - low chaos, sunny skies ending. That's three times, and it's still very satisfying to play - best game I've bought in quite some time - it almost eclipses my shockingly bad decision to buy BF3; and that says a lot.

Playing Green Lantern on the PS3 - it's as average as most comic/movie games and sometimes that's all you want

And now at the halfway point the developers have decided, 'He's gonna finish this and realise it's all a bit short, best have him repeat an entire 15 minute section when he inevitably dies.' No, and I hope you and your company can't keep up with your bills you shoddy scumbags

Used to play World of Tanks a lot before Oli was born, but haven't played in a very long time now.

I'd be on World of Tanks if they made a Mac client.
I've had a few hours on FarCry 3 now. Really like it. Not rushing through the story but doing lots of exploring and crafting.

Just tried the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Demo.
Had high expectations as it's coming from Platinum Games, but was somewhat disappointed.
Maybe the Demo was constructed a bit too hastily, but I didn't feel it told you how to play properly.
The gameplay itself was also slightly lacking, feeling a little clunky especially compared to the incredibly fluid action of Bayonetta and to a lesser extent, the new DmC.

Yeah, I have it downloaded but that's what I'm expecting. I find Platinum Games stuff incredibly overrated.

+1. Didn't like anyof their stuff previous to this generation. Bayonetta was kind of fun but Vanquish was dull and irritating. This is a metal gear game in name only. Yet a fair portion of the gaming press worship the ground they walk on. I have no idea why.

Platinum Games i think can be hit or miss simply because they're a Japanese company with a wide range of high profile Directors/Producers. Bayonetta for me, is quite frankly the best game ever created, both in terms of style and gameplay. Also, with Hideki Kamiya directing (the original DMC director) it was seen as a return to form after the "disappointment" that was DMC4. The main issue with it however, was that went overboard in terms of being very Japanese and ultimately was very polarizing since Western audiences weren't very used to that. Not to mention that Western gamers have been too used to the God of War franchise and seem to use that as a basis of judging action games for some strange reason *wretch* . Vanquish also suffered from the fact that Shinji Mikami (Lead Director of Resident Evil 4) was also directing this and for some, that's already enough to praise it to high heaven. However, one thing that Platinum Games does well is polish and quality, MGR:R feels like a high quality game, but it's just simply missing that "sparkle" that would make it brilliant. I've not played any of the Metal Gear games previously, bar the MGS4 demo, but although you may say it's not a Metal Gear game, when comparing the two, they've definitely captured the initial look and feel. But then, maybe that was my problem, I never really liked the MGS4 demo anyways, so the look and feel already didn't appeal. Couple that with a few... gameplay choices that felt like a step backwards. The decision to not have a dodge function and instead focus on getting the user to Parry attacks seems to be a strange one... previous games have made a distinct difference between the two "Counter" systems in that dodging is safer, has more invincibility frames at the expense of also giving you less time to counter. Parrying on the other hand requires much better timing in order to execute proper for the added benefit of giving you more "uptime" to counter. This dynamic between the two systems makes for added choice during encounters since sometimes it's better to play it safe and sometimes it's better to press the aggression. I may replay the demo later to give it a second look, but i still have my doubts as to whether or not it'll be a success... Metal Gear branding or not. Also, last but not least, let's not forget that Platinum Games took over production of the game from another studio, so I won't judge them too harshly if this turns out bad .
