Crysis 3
Still playing it through, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. It's less restrictive than Crysis 2, but not as open as the original - a fairly acceptable middle ground.
It looks stunning (on a PC at least), it's well paced and still very slick - although it rewards a stealth approach much more than a direct attack.

I never did care about the openness of the original (ended up stealthing everywhere anyway) so as a shooter actually quite liked 2. I know it got slated by most though.

I don't think 2 was a bad game, but it suffered in comparison to the original and Warhead. As a standalone game it was ok. I think 3 is an improvement - I left off just before what I assume is the big finale, and should finish it tonight.

inFAMOUS 1 and 2 - essentially the same game, and I'm still playing 2. They're the same as all action sandbox games that haven't got that much of a narrative thread I've got the add-on stored too, though I could be suffering burnout at that stage

Darkstalkers something something... on PSN. Capcom fighting game - played one, played 'em all Finished inFAMOUS 2. If all you want is a dumb action game that series is great, but average is it's middle name...

I did this too, there is very little incentive to use the other suit modes when kill > cloak > hide > repeat is enough to deal with most situations.

I'm playing Fifa 13 but on a harder mode so I'm not able to easily win games. In fact I've been loaned out to Northampton Town and have lost the vast majority of my games so far. Funny thing is though I'm actually enjoying the game more despite not being able to put the ball in the back of the net!

Currently playing the Starcraft expansion Heart of the Swarm. Particularly liking the new Protoss Tempest, especially flying in with more than half a dozen as a group razing everything as I move.

Playing Black Mesa again. It's nice to play an FPS where the shooting requires some skill. Hard as hell at 2 in the morning when I should be in bed, but still fun.

While I love the idea of FPS it is only at sniping sections that I do well. Halo is just a scatter fest with bullets going everywhere but the target. With the sniper rifle I have a chance. Great fun taking down the big monsters with the sniper rifle. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

Back to Sid Meiers Railroads. Starting to master takeovers of competitors and cutting their income.

Been on a bit of a gaming binge this weekend
Tomb Raider - very 'Uncharted' but still massive fun Bioshock Infinite - not got too far, does a very good job of 'everything feeling normal yet being very disturbing at the same time' Cities XL - since EA make such an enormous bullock-up of 'new' Sim City Starcraft II wings of Liberty - decided to play through again before I have a go at 'heart of the swarm'.

Did you get TR off PSN out of curiosity? I think I'll just rent it since there's not many games I can justify with my backlog, though I'm dying to play it. Same with GoW Ascension. I've yet to play any of the Bioshock games properly , but that was my reading of a video I watched for Infinite too

No, already had it (sadly). Just hadn't got round to playing it. That one day offer was ruddy good value though. It's kind of like The Prisoner. They do things that look right but then you realise they aren't. For example it's set in the 1920's in the US and they have lots of period music - blues, ragtime jazz, that kind of thing. Then I'm wandering round a funfair and there's a barber's shop quartet singing. Which is fine. But they're singing The Beach Boy's 'God Only Knows', which wasn't written until the late 60's. Now I know that's not just a mistake. TBH I didn't get on much with the original Bioshock and Bioshock 2 got such middling reviews I didn't bother. Infinite has had pretty astounding reviews across the board though and the few hours I've got into it suggest they're well justified.
