I didn't swap to the MP-443 immediately was because:
a) I was still in my M1911 phase at the time before i decided the lack of iron sights (as in actual iron sights, not the ability to aim down the barrel) was shocking.
b) I much preferred the iron sights of the M9 which i could use quite well. Since i thought the damage output on the M9 was higher than the 443 i thought i'd get away with having better accuracy (from my input) which would overcome the need for more bullets.
And yeah, as for the damage tables, it's actually really [LIFTED] to find out that there's less variation than i thought though whilst at the same time understanding why some things are classed as "overpowered"...
For example:
a) There are effectively only 2 types of shotgun, the pump action (M870, SPAS-12 and NS-2000) or the semi-automatic (Saiga or USAS). The problem being that everything is the same bar reload speed... from the stats it implies that the M870 and USAS are technically the best due to having the fastest reload (the M870 loads the "Next" shell faster after the initial one).
b) Why people call the M60 overpowered... with a damage of 25 per bullet it's more powerful than any assault rifle, couple in high accuracy, a clip size of 100 and the fact it kills in 4-5 chest shots (but let's face it, the recoil generally kicks in a headshot). I know the AN-94 and M16 fire in 2 and 3 round bursts respectively (and thus, should have higher damage per squeeze of the trigger), but i found the bullet spread of the former to be rather shocking over distance... haven't unlocked the latter yet to try it out.
c) And supposedly going by that table, the revolver with Magnum Ammo (1.25x damage multipler, i.e. 25% extra damage) should kill in a single headshot at close range (up to ~7m).
And i actually didn't know about this one until one of the developers tweeted it whilst looking at rebalacing:
d) On consoles supposedly for a few weapons, there's a damage multiplier of 1.25x against the soldier's body (assume to adjust for lack of more precise aiming) so when coupled with Magnum Ammo (a further 1.25x multiplier), the Colt M1911 pistol kills in 2 body shots.
