The new TR is a real return to form - the only minor criticism I have is that some elements that could have been brilliant weren't fully expanded upon, like the weapons upgrades and the hunting of animals.

Have you played Far Cry 3?

Yeah, didn't get on with it. I really don't see what the fuss is about that series :?

Have just started playing Divinity: Original Sin. So far so good, definite homage to Baldur's Gate in places in terms of the view and the layout etc. Still far too early to comment on storyline and side missions etc.

Elite:Dangerous single player combat demo
In nostalgic extasy. At the end of the month I'll have access to the full beta [WHITE SMILING FACE]

Android Plants vs Zombies - It's this sort of game that led otherwise sensible people to believe that all mobile games were gonna be this addictive.

I need to go into settings; either the game doesn't scale for my tablet or it needs adjusting.

Marvel Puzzle Quest on the phone. I've surprised myself by really bloody liking it!

I'll give that a go...

Android Plants Vs. Zombies 2 - It's a lot tougher than the first game (more reliance and placing plants at EXACTLY the right time), and there's a lot of, sign in with Facebook, and would you like to pay to cheat?...

Marvel Puzzle Quest - no matter what I do I can't beat Juggy or Draken or whatever he's called. Though I might go back and pick up all the other items in the previous levels.

Tales From Space... demo - Too many 'do this a thousand times 'til you fluke it' bits. I hate that in otherwise decent indie games.

Lone Survivor - Almost a point and click and it even advises you to turn off the lights etc; there is nothing scary about this game. Well, unless seriously rough-edged sprites give you flashbacks.

Vessel demo - Another indie wonder where you move from screen-wide puzzle to puzzle, using water creatures to help you. It's OK, but everything's dark to probably save developer work, and there's no personality to it. I'm also bored of platforming puzzle games tbh.

MotoGP14 - It's too hardcore for me, I'm more into arcade racers.

They're probably the first real challenges. It's worth replaying the earlier missions to collect the rewards and increasing your character levels. My Iron Man is now 31 and Black Widow 26 IIRC.

That's what I figure, cheers.

That's the one. It's just there's a lot of grinding unless you want to get your wallet out.

Yeah, I just tried it out. I'll pass.

PS4 Strider - played on easy mode it's an excellent game. It was never gonna tax the PS4 but the attack dynamics are just deep enough to be fun instead of either button mashing or requiring some sort of cybernetic implant. Free on Plus though that might end as early as tomorrow IIRC.

PS4 Lego Superheroes demo - Same as every other Lego game, just better humour to my mind. Might actually buy this if I can't rent it or something, but tbh I wouldn't pay more than a tenner for it; the Lego games all use the same mechanics.

Wolfenstein's going back - apart from it being a rehash of every other shooter, some genius has decided that L2 should be your aim button, and R2 fires. Also, trying to throw a grenade with R1 and realising you don't have any when that button brings up a weapons screen is marvelous when you're getting riddled... You can't make the layout any less retarded.

But the worst thing of all is how inaccurate your character is, whether shooting ot just picking something up off the floor. Why not just automatically pick it up unless it's gonna replace a slot? Every room you enter turns into an Easter egg hunt as a result

Even the graphics are poo for a 'next-gen' game.

Thief demo - It's no wonder it went cheap so quickly. The fixed control scheme doesn't allow for the sort of decision making and movement the game is sold on; it's far too convoluted in the moment.
