Games turn up at your house early almost as standard now. Funny thing is, they still need patched

They are legit retail copies that people have paid for. If they get banned for playing them, well, I for one would be a mite miffed.

They only banned people who posted videos of themselves playing it, presumably because this breaks some form of pre-release NDA (as reviews aren't out until later today)

I see the review scores are almost all 10s or equivalent. Mind you, that was true of IV...

Yes but the amount that was spent on development you would hope it is. I have seen the ads for the game on the TV. I am not sure it would appeal to me either way.

I went to the gym today and only just got home. So tired that I forgot to stop off At the supermarket on the way home. Will try again later in the week.

Sony's FAILboats are so familiar that we'll miss them if they ever disappear, like some weird form of Stockholm Syndrome

Interesting that the xbox 360 allows you to stick the disc contents on to a usb stick and will then run off that. Avoids problems with the disc drive spinning up/down.

Ok, so far it's the best game I've ever played. And I've only explored a fraction of Los Santos.

It feels like playing a movie or something.

You can be driving someone in the car and they're having a conversation. The phone rings and it's some random guy asking how you are just for a chat. No reason.

Then you finish a mission (which doesn't really feel like a mission) and you're free to wander around. During the wandering you might stop a guy from mugging someone... Or help him. Or take part in a race. Or phone up a friend and meet up with them to have a cycle race.

You can jack some cars. Run some people over. Escaping from the police feels very real.

And if you happen to wander into the trigger point of a new mission then a new story is started.

Immersive, expansive, feels like a living breathing city.

Excellent.

Never played any of the GTA - maybe when I have finished Skyrim I will get this - although might get a RTS 1st - ho hum so many games so little time to play them

After reading a couple of reviews last night (having until now avoided any hype) it quickly dawned on me that I needed to buy this.

I was happy enough driving around doing very little in SA, but all the added free-roam stuff of GTA V screamed at me - even so soon after FC3 with all it's hunting/hang-gliding/racing/etc - if the controls don't suck, I can easily see me not noticing the miserable weather of the coming months!

I gave up on "trying" to complete Skyrim - I'm pretty much near invincible so to do it is a more a test of patience against the load times, GUI and button mashing my way through fights.... I go for the occasional mooch now & then - which is how I'm finding I prefer it now, uncompleted - with still lots to do - but not a lot of pressure to do so.

Have you guys played GTA:4? I hated it because of its attempt at "realism" and "real life" with texts, calls, emails, girlfriends etc.

Is any of that Sims stuff still on there and is it obtusive?
