Kaufman Bros. analyst Todd Mitchell has said he's "increasingly concerned about the prospects" of upcoming EA shooter Medal of Honor.

"The game is not developing the level of buzz necessary to knock Call of Duty off its perch," he told Gamasutra.

While the title has garnered its fair share of controversy, leading to a drop in developer morale, it's the launch date that could do most harm to its chances at retail.

Mitchell described the October 12 release date as "ill-timed, sandwiched between the September 14 release of Microsoft's Halo: Reach, which recorded $200 million in first-day sales, and the November 9 release of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

"We really don't see a rationale for owning all three of these games," he added.

EA has admitted it doesn't expect Medal Of Honor to outsell either Halo: Reach or CoD: Black Ops, but has also said the game needs to shift three million copies if it's to get a sequel.

...

Certainly doesn't look like the best move

Well i'm happy enough to buy it,especially after what happened with Modern Warfare 2.(which i STILL haven't brought & don't intend too buy).

In fact i have more faith in this game than Black Ops,just hope it isn't misplaced :?

I think gamers just want good games, not just a couple of levels that take 4 hrs to complete before joining in on the online frag fest that has been thrown out in the last few years. If they are good they will buy all three if it's the sort of game they play.

yours wecrookie

I think a lot of people are becomming tired of COD. Of course Black Ops will sell well. If they put a COD label on a bag of [LIFTED] it would sell. I just have a feeling the more discerning gamer will pick up MOH - if it's any good of course.

But they've already done that - it was called Modern Warfare 2.

I'd rather get MoH this time around, especially after the price they announced for Brown Oops. £55 is a joke.

I need to not buy anymore games. I've finished Reach (twas awesome) and just picked up Fifa 11 for PS3. That, BFBC2 and Uncharted 2 will keep me busy until GT5 comes along.
