Anyone played the demos? I downloaded the PS3 demo last night and it was mindblowingly awesome. I was so pumped with adrenaline that when I went to play MW2 afterwards, my KDR doubled!

There were two game modes in the demo. The first was a simple race. This wasn't particularly special. There was a choice of three cars. The second was much more fun. This puts you in a cop car. You have to take down other racers. You can simply bash them, but to help you there are some new things: spike strips - you get three of these to help you disable the racers, road blocks - call these up and they'll slow (or stop) the racers so you can smash into them. The two other greyed out options were helicopter and EMP. It was immensely fun playing the copper. No evidence of being able to call for back up though.

The best bit IMO? The Autolog feature. Basically your times/scores are posted up along with your friends on a leaderboard. AFAIK it displays only the top four so you try that much harder to beat them. I thought my time in the race game was pretty respectable but turns out I was three seconds behind the top score and 0.87 seconds behind the fourth. It was infuriating to be beaten by 0.87 seconds so after about fifteen attempts, I not only beat the fourth person off the leaderboard, I was in first place around a second faster than anyone else.

This is promising to be an immense game. I'm looking forward to this more than black ops or batman 2!!!

I've added it to my long list of demos to try (I am making my way through them)...

Sounds more like Burnout than NFS though ( I am aware Criterion made this one which explains that ) which although looks good is not what I want from a NFS game.
