Oliver Kreylos is using two Kinects to make a more complete (if not rough) 3D model of things.

Awesome!

I've seen his other videos where he was discussing the possibility of using 2 kinects!

Seems to have worked very well.

It's amazing that you can now have a rendered 3D model of live action from a couple of game controllers!

Meh Point Cloud survey information with an application like True Point is years ahead - but I appreciate they're not exactly consumer-level technologies.

It's obvious that the Kinect is not designed for this, and it's going to be pretty basic level stuff for the price point. That said, it's incredible what people are doing with the hardware without a programmer's manual. I'm finding all this fascinating - I hope he's able to clean up the sampling and make the 3D model more robust.

This, people, is proper 3D Film in the making. Imagine a TV where the scene is rotated using a Kinect to determine your position, and the film is a 3D model being played back made, interestingly, using the same kit as used for playback.
