Famed PS3 hacker Geohot (George Francis Hotz) has professed his innocence over a recent wave of Call of Duty hacks, and put out a call for donations in order to pay for "hard-hitting" lawyers against Sony.
In an FAQ style page, Geohot responds to the accusation that he's the reason people can't play Call of Duty normally now.
"No, I'm not," he says before pointing to a defence of his work as letting "people gain access to the hardware they own."
"I have never played PS3 online ever. Frankly I'm amazed by the apparent ease with which these cheats were created, security 101, why is the security in the client anyway?
"I had no idea this would happen, and am in full support of the cheaters being permabanned from PSN."
'Geohot' also addresses his attempt to diss Sony by rapping at the company over the internet saying, despite his attempt at humour, he does take the situation seriously.
Last month, Sony had a request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) against Hotz granted by the US District Court for the Northern District of California .
The hacker is now forbidden from distributing his PS3 jailbreak code - although he had a little help from Sony's own Kevin Butler earlier this month.
