Did anyone pick theirs up yet/received it? I couldn't be bothered with a midnight launch (was in bed by 2230) so went to the local supermarket this morning on the way to work. Apparently loads of Xbox copies left but only a few PS3 ones. The till lady wasn't sure whether mine was a pre-ordered one so just sold it to me.

Not played it so hoping will be able to give it a bash tonight.

I forgot this was even coming out, everyone seems to be obsessed with Battlefield 3... :?

Not going to bother, at least for now. I don't have time to devote to two MP games and I'm already playing BF3. I would like to see how the MW story concludes though so will rent or pick it up once it's cheap for the SP campaign.

Not much in the way of supermarket offers for this. I was in Sainsburys this morning and their best offer was a tenner offif you spent 40 quid on other stuff at the same time.

Wasn't MW2 25 quid in the supermarkets or something?

Not that I'm bothering anyway. I've already got Uncharted 3 & Arkham City and Skyrim is on the way. I can live without MW3 for now.

Bought it from Asda for £38. You're right in that there wasn't much of a supermarket war like there was last year.

So far the MP maps are more complex/fiddly but otherwise feels like MW2.5! A few issues - trying to find a match takes as long as in MW2. Blops was much quicker even if it did have host migration evey few minutes. Also tried noob tubing (standard class is grenadier) and it seems much less effective. In the previous games, you could noob tube a wall next to the enemy and the blast radius would take the enemy out. Seems a bit impotent and hence useless now. Maps are more complex and it's very easy to get lost! Killstreaks - predator missile is back as are a few others.

£30 when you spend £30

So I bought Forza 4 (£29.99) and my lunch, and got it for £30, which is less than anyone at work paid for it on their Amazon pre-order

To be honest I bought it on the 360 to see if it was worth getting the PC version for LAN play if there are dedicated servers or a decent LAN option, didnt get MW2 because of that

The following will sound like a rant from a CVG forumite, but it's all true!

I haven't tried Spec. Ops yet, but everything so far is a complete retread of the previous MW games - entire set pieces are copied almost shot for shot, and the multiplayer bar the new pointstreak system is the exact same as MW1, right down to the fonts and icons in menu-style screens. It's an add-on pack to a game from 2007! :o

It isn't remotely worth the £35 I paid, and I believe some people would have paid £45 or even more... I only played the campaign on Regular, but 4.5 hours of totally recycled gameplay without a plot is just taking the piss. And deduct half an hour off that if you were playing it properly, as opposed to getting a bit bored and messing about

Thought MW2's storyline was totally ridiculous? This one has no storyline bar 'find Makarov'. I'm not kidding, and even the new characters are totally forgettable, it reminded me of the Transformers films in that sense!

I'm getting rid of it ASAP, and I have to say, the gaming mags and sites that reviewed it so highly did their readership a massive disservice

Everything you just said is why I never bought Black Ops or MW3. I knew I'd probably enjoy the odd moment in SP and have a bit of fun in MP but ultimately not nearly enough to justify a wad of cash that could be better spent elsewhere. The game is the same rehashed [LIFTED] year on year and how it gets the scores it does I do not know. Bit-tech's review is worth a read though.

As you said earlier, I'll wait to pick it up in the bargain bins; if at all.

Four to five hours SP gameplay is a complete p!ss-take, and I liked MW 1&2. They may as well remove the SP campaign altogether.

It wasn't all that long ago that people were whining about paying full price for games with less than 20 hours gameplay, and these clowns are expecting us to pay inflated prices for a quarter of that. Another nail in the coffin for FPS games.

On the Christmas list. For such a short game I'm not paying for it myself.

That said the real value has always really been for online MP gaming.

True, but the only way they can really expect people to cough up full price is by including a SP campaign. Who's going to pay £40 for a MP map pack alone?

They're continually paring down the SP game to the minimum they feel they can get away with, but they know they can't dismiss it completely.

Oh, I agree with you, hence why MW games have always been on my christmas lists and I've never paid for any of them.

Even Spec. Ops is retarded, it appears to have really been meant for 2 players since it's almost impossible otherwise... Trade in time, and never again

I actually enjoyed black ops. I initially found it slower compared to MW2 in terms of action (talking about MP here) but soon adapted to it. It felt more...measured in pace.

MW3 MP is just a frenzy. One where i seem to lose in a gunfight despite having anticipated the enemy and started firing before they popped out of hiding, yet they can turn, look at me for a few seconds and get me with a headshot. WTF.

Hit detection's well off, I hit a wall with a sniper round despite aiming right at a guy's head
