Right, I've got those plastic clip-on triggers for my PS3 pad only one's broken (snapped right up the middle, apparently a common problem). I've actually got another set sitting here but obviously I'm expecting the same problem eventually... Is there such a thing as more durable triggers, made of rubber for example, or even some sort of lightweight metal?! Failing that, anyone know of a good 3rd party pad that has decent triggers as standard? I've Googled the issue silly but no joy ![]() |

I had no clue what you were talking about until Google. Oh right. I've never thought that I needed those. However at £2.05 with free delivery, just buy like 4-5 sets? Or spend more on these which seem to have a good write up? |

Thought I'd typed Giotech... Those are the ones that broke, lasted just over a month, so I won't be buying any more ![]() I'd actually been looking at that other set alongside a few others and have bookmarked them. Hopefully the set I have left (different brand) might be a bit sturdier, but I doubt it somehow at the price... They're great for shooters you see (and driving games apparently) ![]() |

I struggle to see how anything of that sort of design can be made to be much more sturdy. I guess what you'd need is for the triggers to be mounted to something solid-ish, like a panel attached to the back of the controller. |

I reckon rubber might work but what do I know? ![]() Was thinking along similar lines to you when I saw an 'armoured' cover, but that was just a pointless designer frame ![]() |

Set arrived, triggers are far better, same deal but coated almost entirely in rubber. Should keep them together a bit longer... Not sure on the grips yet, needs more testing. |

Cheers, but I've always found the Xbox pad absolutely hateful! |

No, sorry, the design's useless to me personally and I always suspected it was a hasty compromise to avoid comparisons with what others had done previously. |

I'll second that. PS controllers FTW. |

There's no joy in that pad For me the Xbox puts the left analogue stick exactly where it should be (parallel to the four action buttons) and the triggers are far better generally. The standard 360 D-pad is [LIFTED] though (forget playing Street Fighter!) but other options are available. |

I picked up a PS pad for the first time and everything fell into place under my fingers - the Xbox pad just didn't. Had to think about where they'd put things. YMMV. |
