Yes, treating the customers like crap is why I'm quitting games after this generation...

Whilst i understand that people will hate this.

I am on the completely opposite fence.

I love Steam and i like the fact that it's finally getting some competition.

It takes quite a lot to pull me away from Steam and Origin has done just that (having BF3 and SW:TOR really helped them) to the point where i don't mind look there for games. In contrast, other Digital Services like Direct2Drive, Greenman Gaming etc. haven't ever taken my money unless i can activate it on Steam or Origin.

Now that ME3 is an "Originworks" (a la Steamworks) game, i'm happy knowing that i can buy the game from anywhere i want and be able to register it on Origin.

Origin is evil. EA are evil. Requiring a Windows Live account to save games is evil. I will avoid any and all games that involve these things.

PS. Valve FTW.

What's the big deal with Origin? I have it for BF3, it's no different to Steam. In fact it's good for Steam to have competition.

I have no problem with this.

Well, the only problem is I have to fit in time to play ME2, that's currently sitting on my shelf, before ME3 comes out.

Ah of course, I'd forgotten about that. Although I installed WL I think I played that offline though so I never saved it online.

If they could possibly come close to being good enough to be considered as some sort of competition to Steam rather than a cynical low-grade copy, you might have a point.

Very true, I must admit I made my comment more optimistically than realistically.

It doesn't fill you with confidence that it's still 'Origin Beta'. :D
