They're confident, or do they really mean the DLC, access etc they've sold...

It is probably because there will be a huge user base out there that they will miss out on if they fail to supply them. Simple economics really. They could supply the million or so next gen consoles that will be around initially and miss out on the hundred million older consoles out there. I know what I would target.

I imagine without this statement being released people would be put of buying the latest instalments on FIFA, etc on the current gen worrying that the servers might be switched off at any point.

I initially thought I'd have a new console at Xmas (don't know which one yet) but with GT6 out this year I just might hold on for a while longer yet. Unless of course the Xbox One works with my G27. That would change things slightly!
