Don't get me wrong, I've bought any number of things digitally, but it'll never be my 'be all and end all' and those things were all cheap. We've already seen companies from the smallest to some of the largest refusing to fix games that should never have been released in their current state. Games that have been deleted after purchase meaning you can never download it again. Books removed from Amazon itself and Kindles. Zune :lol:

I'll never amass a full-on digital library the way I have with games and books and so on. I'd sooner do without, but then I'm maybe lucky to be in that position.

I think it does depend heavily on how well it is done. I have made use of the Mac App Store to buy games. It is the flexibility of the system that make it work. With the App Store I can install on a number of machines and not restricted to having an always on connection. Even though it may be there it has been unobtrusive. That is what Microsoft failed to learn from Apple. If they had a minimal phone home requirement they might have had a lot less flak. I do prefer disks for consoles because you do not need to download anything. Especially as the disks are small on consoles.
