I just checked out the Blaine County video of GTA V and quite fancy it - but can you play 360 online vs a PS3 player?

I do not think that is a stupid question. It is interesting to know whether they actually can be set up to play the same game.

Unless they take the console gaming networks and pass it through there own which would be unlikely but then yes.

Either way. I don't think GTA online is going to be out straight away anyway.

This is true for any other game, so I don‘t see why it would be any different here. I expect it would be possible for RockStar to set up their own gaming servers if they wish to, but I would imagine that developer deals with Sony, MS, etc. require keeping things confined to the respective networks. A shame, as being able to play games online with your friends should be a platform agnostic affair.

Oh well cheers guys - I ended up buying it for the PS3 - it's not like I had XBL Gold!

I might wait till the PS4 comes out and see if I can get it as part of a bundle with the PS4.

Going to be quite a while before it's out on PS4/XBO allegedly. Certainly not in time for a launch bundle.

That was a thought, but spending £400+ for a console I don't need for a game I got for £38 = makes no sense!

I am not really rushing. If I have to wait months I do not mind. I skipped the PS3 because I did not find enough games that appeal to me. Though it might have actually helped if I was looked harder. I will probably wait until there are a few games that appeal before taking the plunge.
