TBH that's probably because people don't know whether they're going to get a next-gen console or not, and if so, which one. I suspect if there was no next-gen console this year, orders would have been comparable to last year.
Having said that, I bought the recent vengeance map pack and am disappointed - I've only played three of them but none of them seem to be enjoyable.

I've only ever bought the map packs for MW2 and BO1, and I wish I hadn't bothered with BO1. The themes of the levels are good but the layouts are crap, and nobody ever chooses them over the defaults for that reason. The last two MP components have been very weak compared to BO1 or previous, IMO - I think partly that might be what's behind this pre-order story.

I do think that the arrival of the new consoles is having an impact on people's plans. If you know a new console is coming out why splurge on a new game for an old console? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

Current-gen CoD: Ghosts 'benefitting' from next-gen development, says IW http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... t-says-iw/Hmmm, I suspect they mean that next-gen is suffering as a result of their practices

There may be other factors involved. I would be cautious until the consoles were on sale.

Call of Duty Ghosts multiplayer: all the details & trailer http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... s-trailer/That looks closer to MW2/BO but with some of the silly crap from BO2. They need to make the weapons feel individual again, and not have you continually turning corners looking for tiny enemy targets.

TBH I would rather they sort out the lag issues, the multiple disconnections and some realistic effects - not some ridiculous game where I can pump an entire clip into someone and they can turn round and kill me with a single bullet. That for me would be more appealing.
I loved MW2. BLOPS1 felt slower but made me think more carefully. MW3 was just a frantic mash and I hated it. BLOPS2 is better but server/lag issues are killing it for me. Still am now on Prestige 9 which is the highest I've ever achieved.

I suspect that would more likely be down to the Internet connections than the server problems. Though as I do not play MP I would not know definitively. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

Call of Duty: Ghosts new multiplayer details revealed http://www.computerandvideogames.com/42 ... -revealed/I wouldn't be arsed with all that; they'd gone too far with it by MW3 IMO. And the weapons all felt the same in BO2, it didn't matter what way you spent the points, really. Why the hell are points even needed anyway? It just overcomplicates things.

The points system in BLOPS2 works quite well IMO. You can run around with one gun and lots of perks, or lots of guns/attachments with no perks. Love the wildcard system. Just allows flexibilty and enables me to obtain achievements. Now Prestige 10! If I reach 55, I'll be Prestige Master! The stupidest thing is that I see prestige masters all the time and most have a worse score and KDR than me. Some of them will have cheated. Some don't have skills so concentrate on achievements. Very few are actually any good.

That reminds me of a joke. What do you say to a level 55 warlock at your door? Thank you for the pizza.
