Just a question - I’m watching Shooting Stars on iPlayer on my PS3, and today the picture quality is crap. I’m using a standard definition TV, and other times it’s been fine. Is this normal, or has the picture quality dropped recently? Any hints on improving it?

Doesn't the iPlayer stream different qualities of content according to what sort of speed your connection is? Is your ISP having a slow day?

This crossed my mind. Friday evening... everyone is home and downloading porn and mP3s, so I guess there could be some lag on the line (or slag depending on wether it’s the former or latter being downloaded).

Yes. iPlayer changes quality (sometimes fps) according to your connection, it has little to do with the PS3.

There was a recent update which has improved the iPlayer quality on the PS3 at my place. Is your system up to date?
