Anyone played this yet? How does it compare to the original?
I'm not sure I want to splash out £25 for something that doesn't seem all that different to L4D...

L4D2 = comic L4D = atmospheric
Dont know if its the daytime campaigns but you dont feel as immersed in L4D2, plus there are just too many slapstick comedy moments, not a bad thing, just different to L4D. I would say it is a fair bit harder especially with realism mode on, realism+expert means getting about 20 metres from the safe room, thats the saferoom you leave not the one you are going to.
Havnt played scavenge yet but dabbled into vs and as predicted the new SI, particularly the spitter, are way over-powered. I imagine they will get nerfed very soon.
I love L4D2 and although there are similarities it is quite different to L4D, clearly aimed at the console $ but good fun all the same.

Oh my god.
I've been playing it a bit round at Brad's house on the Xbox 360, and I must say I'm surprised.
The framerate will drop to single digits as soon as there's any sign of movement. And I don't mean a zombie rush too. A smoker grabbing you will reduce the game to a crawl. And the control system is utter sh1te too.
I'm surprised, because the game devs usually make a very good job at porting games to the xbox. I mean, they ported the arcade version of Outrun 2 (which used an arcade version of the Xbox 1 with 512mb RAM) to the home Xbox what had 64mb RAM. I regard this as a pretty amazing technical feat. And MW2 on the Xbox 360 is lag-free too.
Although having said that, the Source engine games are pretty crap on the 360. HL2 looks pants, with horrible jaggedy edges and rubbish textures and a low framerate too.

L4D2 doesnt have the same atmosphere as L4D1, but it is by no means a shabby game, everything has been tidied up, campaigns are longer and less linear, and on the whole the game is much free-er with greater weapon and versus char. mode I wouldnt hesitate to get it Regards Alistair
