It’s telling that out of all the Alien films, the imagery most used is from James Cameron’s film. It was a bloody good sequel to a film which has never been topped, and set in motion a whole aesthetic of industrial/military hardware. This game, on the face of the trailers, looks bloody good, and I’ll be keenly following it. You know, I’m getting to the point where an HD TV is going to be on the cards. I promise myself that when Alien & Aliens comes out on Blu Ray, I’ll be starting to make more than cursory glances at what’s available. Some history: when Aliens was around AT THE CINEMA, we all bought Games Workshop’s Space Hulk game because it was the closest there was to a decent Aliens game as you could get. You had to roll dice. There was an official Aliens board game, but it looked utter crap. Games Workshop put real effort into their little plastic figures of Space Marines and Gene Stealers (which were as close to the alien as you could get without breaking copyright).

Well you can start saving for the TV in the meantime I 'spose, as an upside to this: http://www.theblurayblog.com/2009/06/ru ... logy-more/I have to say I'm happy enough with the films on DVD for now, cos I'm not sure if BR would show up a lot of flaws you wouldn't otherwise have noticed (Aliens for instance was filmed on dodgy stock I believe)

Good interview - apparently the games tie in with the films, though that sadly includes the AvP ones (I'm aware of the irony ):http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/pc/2009/ ... nterview/1
