Whilst it definitely looks good, i question its ability to compete again UFC Undisputed which made quite an impact with its debut last year.

Issue for EA is this will be out after UFC 2010
The one thing I like aside from the different fighters is the use of the fight night controls, UFC was very static with how actions were performed, this looks like it could be more fluid

I agree about fluidity which is because EA decided to motion capture a fighter's individual style (i hesitate to say "each" since it's probably only just a few?). Undisputed did it more "rigidly" with certain fighters having special strikes/animations or styles. They haven't properly revealed it yet but i don't see how they'll integrate their "Total Fight Control" by using the analogue sticks... i thought Undisputed had very innovative controls using the analogue stick for grabs, counters and transitions and supposedly that's being enhanced for 2010. Also Undisputed 2010 is integrating a cage use mechanic into the game which i've not seen in the EA MMA trailers and was something that fans thought was lacking in the first Undisputed.

Unfortunately there is a lot we don't know about EA MMA Submissions are the other major area. I just REALLY hope that Fedor is added to the lineup if he isn't already, can't wait to kick ass as Cung Lee

I think at the very least they'll have to match Undisputed 2009, so standup and ground game (inc. submissions). And Fedor's already confirmed to be on the roster w/ some footage of him in the first trailer (to promote his fight vs. Brett Rogers). + Am glad they've pulled the Dream fighters as well as Strikeforce... Shinya Aoki and Joachim Hansen will be interesting if they implement a solid ground game (i think it's Hansen at least).

I know this isn't technically the right thread, but there's a new UFC Undisputed 2010 video out which shows a few of the new gameplay mechanics: clicky. I have to say, it looks like they've improved it a lot... I originally thought they were just going to add the extra cage game and a few new move animations but it looks like they've done much more than that. For example, the introductions are much better... i'm not sure if it's just the main fighters but it's good to see they've included Hardy's "pointing" and GSPs walk into the middle of the ring + bow. It's a small non-gameplay point but it adds more character and makes them seem more real. Also, the ground work looks a lot more "realistic" in terms of a struggle as opposed to transitions between set positions. I know it's what EA MMA were aiming for (especially with their motion capture) but they've yet to properly demonstrate it from an in game perspective, only showing it off in trailers at "dramatic" angles. I'm not discounting EA MMA but it looks like they've got their work cut out for them... think Undisputed 2010 is a definite first day buy for me and we'll see about EA MMA.

Wasn't really impressed with that trailer at all. Things just looked... fake, like the punches and kicks had no power behind them. Also Gegard Mousasi does not look like Gegard Mousasi (imo).
