Hey all, just looking for a bit of a comparison.

Still neck deep in DAO, loving it BTW after getting to grips with tactics yada yada. The thing is I caught a brief comment on load times, just wondered if anybody is playing this with a HDD and what your load times are.

I got myself a 64GB SSD not long back and just wondered what the comparison time is for loading levels/sreens etc. At the most I think I've waited about 5 seconds, usually just 2 or 3.

Much appreciate someone satisfying my curiousity, the SSD certainly helps with my impatience :D

I stopped playing a while ago, just finished the Landsmeet, and started to battle the Darkspawn, haven't played it since, BC2 and JC2 have taken my time.

But for the loading times? I'm usually waiting around 10-15-20 seconds. Does get annoying sometimes. Wish I had the money to spend on a SSD, but I can't :(

Thanks for that MBM, I only went for an SSD because I needed a new drive anyways. :D

Aye, I finished one playthrough as a mage, now doing a second rogue play with the DLC as well.

I was such a numptee in the first playthrough, I didn't realise you could actually manually go to the party camp whenever you wanted until I nearly finished it. :D

Ass I am.

I bought it yesterday on a craving for something different.

Initial thoughts are that i was unimpressed with the camera... The over-the-shoulder view doesn't let me pan around like it did in KoTOR and the "Isometric" view just seems to be at the wrong angle (too "over the top").

Other than that i've been enjoying the game, although didn't realise that the game is one of those which "limits" where you're allowed to go it seems. After Lothering i wanted to head over to the dwarven kingdom but i get completely mauled by the bounty hunters waiting for me. After trying it about 5-7 times i just gave up and headed to the Dalish camp instead :(.

EDIT: I never had any real issues with the loading times, as the previous poster said, maybe 15-20 at the most, however now, trying to reload a save it's taking well over a minute... can't even seem to alt-tab out of the game :(.
