Has anyone updated to PHP 7 on a WordPress install? Looking to do it for our sites, trying to get IT to install a test server, so that I can try it out, before we do it on the live site.

We are also currently moving to SSL, which is proving to be a bit of a pain. We have 4 sites, each using different themes and each of them stores key graphics in different places, so tracking them down, when Firefox complains about mixed content, is time consuming. We go 99% of the site working very quickly, but things like Google fonts required some faffing around with theme .php files. Why can't themes have a standard control panel? Gah!

I've seen a couple of plugins to force https, but do you need to run the plugin once or does it need to remain as an active plugin?
