According to the ticket in my hand I've just been to see Clash of Tit. You might all know it better as Clash of the Titans though.

Went to go see it in 3D and it was very good.

I hadn't heard or seen much about the film so I really didn't know what to expect.

It seemed to be a modern day retelling of the old, classic, Technicolor, ancient Greek mythological films. This one covering the story of Perseus and his fight with Medusa, etc... (Like Jason and the Argonauts etc...) In fact I wouldn't be too surprised if they started making that one some time soon.

The action was very good, the story was a bit bland though but not so bad that I couldn't watch, the CG was amazing I loved the way they interpreted the Gods standing over the Earth.

Anyway, good film I think.

Really, I thought it was terrible.

I thought the acting was damned awful and the story, Gemma Arterton really is a terrible actress, she was great in St. Trinians but in this and QoS I just felt like I was watching an actor not a character. Whilst relatively true to mythology was rather stagnant, could have done with a bit more going on; the middle section in particular was overly dull.

Oh and the shoddy attempt at 2D - 3D conversion doesn't bear thinking about!

I saw it in 2d, and thought that some of the bits would suit 3d. Just not all of them... So i'm glad I saw it in 2d.

I thought it was alright, but was a bit disappointed with the lack of actual TITANS.

Should I still go see that or wait for Prince of Persia?

The people looking at the 3D market in Hollywood are very unhappy with Clash. It, along with Alice, was filmed in 2D and 3Dised (yeuch, sorry Heather) at the last minute and they claim it is a very bad advert for 3D and won't do the cause to promote 3D films any favours... :?

They just ran a season of Harryhausen films here recently. Caught Jason and the Argonauts last weekend. The girls were laughing at the quality of the animation of the stop-motion monsters. :( I still found it fascinating, that they looked so good, considering the technology... :?

Jason and the Argonauts and 7th Voyage of Sinbad are classics. They are 'of their time' but the stories are told in a very entertaining way. 7th Voyage is over 50 years old now....how many of today's effects-driven films will still be enjoyed in half a century's time? And let's not forget that Ray Harryhausen did all of the painstaking creature effects himself (until Clash, I think), with no team of 100 animators to share the workload.

I'd take the Jason... effects over most modern-day stuff anytime - at least they weren't super-shiny and somehow bland :(

The original Clash of the Titans and the whole swords and sorcery films were fun. Maybe they will release box sets of the originals as they were fun to watch.
