Nope. Small roads are too small to do a U-turn in so need a 3-point turn to turn round, necessitating a reverse gear.
If people didn't need reverse gears, they'd be phased out by now.

Anyone with a drive/garage would be stuffed. You either have to reverse in or reverse out.

Anyone not living in a certain remote village in Scotland would be stuffed without reverse. How are corsa owners meant to do donuts without reverse?

I tend to reverse into parking spaces, so unless I want to get out and push, no I couldn't manage without reverse!

Can you imagine the floor layout of multistorey carparks for cars without reverse?? *slap* what I was trying to get at was if your own cars reverse gear somehow broke but the car still worked and you coudnt afford to fix it etc, and if it was possible to (in your area etc) still manage to go to work or shopping etc just by driving forwards and if you saw the layout of where I live, I dont need reverse _________________

Ah, it might be a lot easier to reverse onto your drive, but you could drive in forwards. Well, I live in quite a built up area. Lots of cars, lots of back streets, and pretty much fighting for right of road on a daily basis. I tend to be the bish(see good use of my name there ) who always tries to get through if it's no way of road for either, sometimes I have to reverse allll the way back and get into the tiniest space. I have to parallel park into the smallest of gaps at my house, my parents and pretty much everywhere I go. So yeah. I'd die without a reverse gear. _________________ I make full use of this action, while at x404.
