Read the books many times. Think it would be best as an RPG /FPS type. I think you could be a character who interacts with the main charaters in the book as the story unfolds

Must get a copy of that at some point... Today I'm thinking Payback (also made as films starring Lee Marvin and Mel Gibson) and pretty much anything by James Ellroy/Elmore Leonard so long as they kept the story/stories right, especially the likes of LA Confidential, or even Get Shorty as a game set within the movie industry
