Haven't time to read this myself at the mo, but what apps do people here use? I'm more curious about Android now since it's gonna appear on cheaper phones :)

I don't think I shall be using Android at all.

This is partly because I have no real interest, and partly because I'm very unlikely to acquire a phone that runs it.

Mind you, it can be any worse than the PoC that passes for an OS on my current Nokia...

Yes, that's the sort of reasoning that has me curious about Android - I've got a slow-ass Sagem

Not the Best of the Market Place IMHO

things like the beeb player and google maps (my Hero is stuck on 1.5 :( ) for sure but most of the social networking guff doesn't do it for me.

Things I use,

PDAnet - tethers my phone to a pc or laptop for 3G browsing yay!
SipDroid - free VOIP calling
Dolphin browser - tabbed browsing, suports flash
wifinder
wifi analyser - both od those for analysing wifi signals and network discovery.
Most Importantly - Remote RDP remote connection to mine, or my clients servers, wherever I am - Priceless

Also a whole load of little casual games to play in downtime moments.

Is Dropbox on Android? I find that pretty damn useful for university stuff.

Other than that - GamesGamesGames! Oh and those cool apps you hold to the speaker and they tell you what is playing. :D

Yep Drop Box is on the original article about midway through the listing.
