Cool, thanks.

So will she move to Froyo 2.2 for a "2 - 5x increase in speed"?

What does she/you think of the actual handset? Pros/cons?

Kernel Version

I have no idea if thats the lastest version but I tried a manual update and it said no updates were available..

Yup it says the same on mine and I have no idea what that gibberish means either.

Oh, and although its a little gimmick she loves the default wallpaper that changes depending on the time and day and weather conditions. I must admit the first time you see the sunset on your mobile its pretty funky. Then the window wipers come on and wipe away the raindrops. 8-)

Thunder storms are rather fun as well. :D

Its my first phone that's really more than a phone. I love it. :D

Hand set very good, easy handling feel to it, although would prefer a better "lock" so it doesn't accidentally dial somebody in your pocket.

Keyboard & spelling hints are very good.

According to "Koli's law", shouldn't this be in the OpenSource forum?

If she was more technology/gadget minded I might be able to answer that but as all she does is pretty much call, text, email and facebook there's not much to report. That said it does all those things will ease and being a bit of a n00b hasnt been a problem for her. I've has a play and like what I say. The UI is lovely combined with the OLED screen its the nicest I've used (ive not had a chance to try iPhone4).

Cons as far as I'm concerned is Orange dont allow removal of their preinstalled gubbins and it was a ball ache working out how to stop it importing contact details from ALL facebook friends. Apart from that its all good so far.

It's an awesome phone. Once I'd got it to display my contacts the way I like, it's exceeded all my expectations.
