Yeah, I placed my home made trap just next to the fridge about an inch away from the wall - definitely within striking distance!

All the shop bought ones are in corners of the room except for one which is against the wall behind the fridge where there were a few droppings.

Analyse every place indoors and examine the outside of the house. We found where they were coming in from and sealed the area with bricks and sheet metal.
