It’s just to expose you to more of their advertising, I’d imagine.

I thought it was something I did wrong.
What a pile of crap.

I actually rather like it.
I can cycle through pages quicker, although currently the whole interface looks a tad less slick than it did before.

It’s nice that they seem to tack a bit of porn on at the end too. Congratulations - you’ve just scrolled through a few thousand images. Now here’s a picture of a blonde being boned as a reward.

It's a mess, and certainly no good on those very popular netbook devices IME...

Woohoo!
I've discovered that Apple's latest Safari 5 web browser has an extension available called "Old Google Image Search" - to install it, click the "Get Extensions" button in Safari's preferences. Scroll down in the list of extensions - it's under the "Search Tools" category - and click the "Install" button.
This puts Google's image search results back into the old style by default, no messing about clicking the "Show in classic version" link every time!
I am now officially a happy bunny, and have switched back to Safari as my main web browser.
BTW: apart from the above, has anyone else found any useful Safari Extensions yet. From what I can see it's mainly aimed at social network sites. The only other one I thought might be useful (Turn out the lights, dims web pages to just show the video), didn't work when I tried it out, it dimmed the video as well as the web page! Oh well, will keep looking at other extensions, but the "Old Google Image Search" is worth installing if the new style bugs you.

She looks hot. I'd happily take the place of the guy.

The new version doesn't work in Opera - it uses the old version Fired up IE8 to check - very annoying makeover.
