IIRC isn't there a rather large second hand book shop near you (Chatham)?? I used to spend hours there when visiting....

I just picked up six hard-backed volumes of Churchill's account of the Second World War (and the years leading up to it), for £3 each at a charity shop.

I've never looked online for used books, but I don't visit the shops with specific books in mind. I like browsing the dusty shelves of small bookstores, just to see if anything sparks my interest.

Even if I leave empty handed , it is a far more enjoyable experience than a sterile internet search.

Not sure if it's still there, but there was a place called Baggins Book Bazaar in Rochester High Street. Never been in there. :oops:

I just go to waterstones. Books are one item that I really like to browse for.
